K88 Food Court @ Old Klang Road, KL

On Saturday, the hubs suggested steamboat for dinner, but I wasn't keen as we had just eaten fish balls and noodles for lunch and I didn't want to eat something similar again for dinner. I suggested having hawkers' food at K88 Food Court. What I really wanted to eat from the K88 Food Court was Ngoh Jie's Apom . I had blogged about this Apom earlier this year after the hubs chanced upon this apom stall while looking for porridge. Since then, I have been hoping to drop by the stall myself to satiate my cravings again. This time, I chowed down 5 pieces of apom! What I really like about K88 Food Court is that it is really huge and very complete. There are 52 stalls within the food court and you can choose to dig into your food indoor or outdoor. Eating at K88 somewhat reminds me of eating at Gurney Drive and Northam Cafe in Penang. I can get the best of Penang hawkers' food at K88 from assam laksa to seafood, char koay teow and even my apom! As the Covid-19 cases in our country increase by the tens and twenties daily, people's fear of contracting the virus is fueled to the point of being hypochondriac / OCD / paranoia. I was at BIG Pharmacy yesterday to get some meds for the mil and I saw a long bee line outside the pharmacy. On some days, the queue will be almost 10 shop lots long till the end of the road! Each customer is only allowed to buy a maximum of 5 pieces of face mask a day. I only wear a face mask whenever I'm at the hospital and it's only in recent weeks that I practise face mask wearing. In the past, I don't even bother to wear face mask whenever I'm in the hospital. I'm a heavy user of hand sanitizer though (only recently). I stash a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my handbag and there's a huge bottle at the entrance of our house. Eight Treasure Restaurant @ Taman Connaught, Cheras

Our girls ditched us on Sunday. We were supposed to go out for lunch together but when they heard that daddy was going to our regular neighborhood kopitiam for a quick lunch, suddenly, everyone had something cropped up at the eleventh hour. The girls are bored of eating the same old food at the eatery. Just mention that we're going for Korean or Japanese, all their online classes and projects will be unbelievably postponed or someone would say that she got the dates mixed up 😐 With just hubs, mil and I, hubs decided to venture out of our neighborhood as the mil suddenly had a craving for Pan Mee at Eight Treasure Restaurant, a small neighbourhood restaurant in Taman Connaught that attracts a continuous queue of zealous diners. The last time we were there about a month ago, the Pan Mee was sold out when we reached the restaurant at around 11-ish a.m. The Pan Mee is one of the restaurant's star dishes and is replete of ingredients and flavor.
