Fitness is Individual, Not a Universal Process

Fitness is individual and not universal. That's awesome! Why? Because we're all different people with different strengths and weaknesses. When you focus on the things you can do and give your best effort, great results happen.

Focus on Your Strengths

Acceptance of who you are and appreciating your strengths is essential for health and fitness. I eliminate push-ups from my workout for example because they aggravate my neck injury. Instead, I work hard on chest press and it works for me. Workouts are meant to be different for all of us and that's the beauty of personal training.

Not being able to do some exercises just opens the door for you to excel at what you can do. It's looking at the positive and strong part of your fitness abilities. This is a great thing, not a loss. You get my point. It's doing what works best for you and becoming your best you.

Never Give Up

It's important to never give up on you. Believe and know you can achieve great things. Work hard to reach your goals and do whatever it takes to get there. This is the time to find your strong and put it to work. It doesn't matter how long it takes because life and fitness are all about the journey. The important thing is to put aside fear and doubt, let go of a failure attitude, and embrace who you are right now.

Keep it Personal

We live in a society where comparison gets in the way of self-improvement. We somehow believe our body and fitness program should be like the person in the magazine or even a friend. Not true. Your fitness is a personal process and that's how it's supposed to be. You are not going to look like anyone else except you. Yay you!

Some helpful tips to keep your focus on you include:
  • Accept and love yourself.
  • Allow yourself to be a beginner.
  • Your fitness program will be different.
  • Celebrate your strengths.
  • Do what you can with what you got.
  • Don't compare yourself to others.
  • Stay positive.
  • Work to become the best version of you.
  • Fitness is not a competition.
  • Give your best effort.
  • Find what works for you.
  • Be patient.
