Why Do Excuses Continue to Derail Your Fitness?

Excuses are often used to avoid a workout or eat healthy meals, agreed? They can get in the way and derail your ability to get fit.

We want a fit and healthy body but come up with every reason in the book to avoid doing the work to achieve the goal. Why?

What continues to get in the way of the thing we most want?

Negative Thinking

Fitness is often times thought of as a burden. Like it's taking something away from your life. Negative thinking about getting healthy is one of the main reasons we are unsuccessful.

We almost have a rebellious attitude toward health and fitness. A negative attitude, excuses, and rebel behavior is definitely not going to achieve a healthy body or mind. We really need to change our mind in order to change our body.

Fitness Takes Work

If getting fit were easy, everyone would be doing it. Health and fitness require effort and planning.

Why is there such an issue with working for your goals? Everything in life worthy of anything takes work. Right?

Why is the effort to adopt a healthy life considered a burden? Why all the excuses to avoid it?

Most of us work hard in our careers, strive for material things but disregard health and fitness. Without good health, your ability to hold a job and enjoy the material fruits of your labor wouldn't be a possibility.

Our thinking about health and living are really skewed in this society. Agreed?

Health and Priorities

Sadly, health isn't a priority for a large percentage of the population.

Imagine if our mindset was changed and we believed nothing but positive things about getting fit and healthy. There would be a significantly reduced shift in the obesity epidemic along with less disease and illness.

In this perfect world, health would always be a priority. However, with diet culture confusion and the negative stigma placed on fitness, it requires a daily choice to be healthy - to make it a priority.

It's not like we have to scale the largest mountain peak in the world. You simply need to love yourself enough to take care of your body. Fitness is meant to better your life not to be a burden.

Life is too short to let excuses get in the way of being your best healthy self.
